About DSNI
DanceSport medal tests have only a pass grade as they are intended to define the minimum standard of each dance level so there will be candidates who will need to retake the test at a later date after being advised what areas of their dancing needs improvement, but any subsequent tests retaken will not require a test fee.

The test will commence with a short group dance, where all the couples are dancing together for a warm up and preliminary inspection. The candidates will then dance in groups of two or three couples depending on the number taking part in the test. As all the dancers will be required to dance using the same timing it will be necessary for anyone needing to dance to minority or unusual timings to notify DanceSport on application, that they have a particular requirement.
All candidates will be notified by post if they have reached the standard required and will receive their awards, when approved, at the next event after their successful test. If an appeal is made the test will be reviewed by all the Directors and their decision will be final

Entrants should submit their application to a DanceSport Director along with a £5 test fee for each applicant, the decision of the medal assessment panel is final. If the scheduled test needs to be cancelled for any reason, refunds will only be issued if applied for two days prior to the test date.
