DJ QUEUE

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 16 October 2026

DJ Queue is an Android application that lets a DJ Host and Guest devices connect over a local Wi-Fi network. Guests can access music available to the app, submit selected tracks to the Host and transfer selected audio files when requested by the Host. This policy describes the information used by these features and how users can manage it.

1. Information used by DJ Queue

Username and device information. DJ Queue allows you to choose a username that the Host can see alongside your submissions. The app also uses device information such as manufacturer, model and an app device identifier for identification and connection-related functions.

Music information. With the relevant Android access permissions, DJ Queue can read information about music available to the app. Selected tracks may be represented by their display titles and generated track identifiers.

Network information. DJ Queue uses local Wi-Fi discovery and communication to connect participating devices.

2. How information is used

DJ Queue uses this information to find and connect to a Host, display participating devices and their submissions, manage music selections, maintain an active Guest connection and restore locally saved selections when applicable.

3. Sharing between Host and Guest devices

When a Guest joins a Host session, the Guest sends its chosen username and application device identifier to the Host over the local network. When a Guest submits music, DJ Queue sends track display titles and generated track identifiers to the Host.

Audio transfer: submitting a track initially sends its title and identifier, not the MP3 itself. If the Host requests a selected track for playback, the Guest transfers the audio file directly to the Host over the local TCP connection. Transfers are limited to files of up to 50 MB in the inspected implementation.

DJ Queue's inspected Host/Guest networking code communicates directly between participating devices; it does not upload submissions or transferred audio to an external DJ Queue server.

4. Local storage, retention and deletion

Guest submission selections are saved in private application preferences so they can survive navigation or app restarts. The Host also stores local track-selection preferences, which may remain after a session ends.

To transfer audio, the Guest may create a temporary copy in its application cache and attempts to delete that copy after the transfer attempt. The Host stores received MP3 files in its private application cache for playback, separate from the Host's own music library.

Removing a submission withdraws it from the submission list but does not delete the original music file. When the Host ends a session normally, DJ Queue clears session submissions and attempts to delete the Host's cached Guest audio. Unexpected shutdowns or unsuccessful file deletion may leave cached files until they are removed by the app or Android.

Uninstalling DJ Queue generally removes its private local app data. Android backup and device-transfer behavior depends on the installed app's backup rules and the Android device. The release configuration is intended to exclude the user profile, Guest submissions and Host selection preferences from configured Android backup and transfer operations; these exclusions must be included in the released app to take effect.

6. Security

DJ Queue uses local network communication. Connect only to networks and DJ Hosts you trust. The inspected Host/Guest connection uses ordinary TCP sockets without TLS or end-to-end encryption. This means usernames, track information and transferred audio are not encrypted by DJ Queue at the transport layer. Use DJ Queue only with Hosts and local networks you trust. File checksums verify transfer integrity but do not provide authentication or confidentiality.

7. Children's privacy

DJ Queue is not specifically designed for children. The app is intended for people using a DJ-hosted music session and is not specifically directed at children.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as DJ Queue's features or data-handling practices change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
